The Connectors
Siamese cables require a BNC connector to attach the video component and a DC terminal for power, two for every cable you run (one on each end). Buying a bulk spool of cable and attaching your own connectors is a great way to save money, just as you might with bulk category 6 Ethernet cables or zipcord fiber optic cables.

Like phone charger cables, any cable carrying power can pose a fire hazard if it becomes frayed or damaged. In 2008, electrical fires caused 53,600 home fires, 1,400 injuries, 500 deaths, and $1.4 billion in property damage.
